Meat loaf has been giving us amazing albums since 1977. Some of these include: Bat out of hell, Dead ringer, Bad attitude, Welcome to the Neighborhood and Midnight at the Lost and Found. But now, straight from under the wings of the bat out of hell himself comes ‘Hang cool Teddy Bear’, Meat Loaf’s best sounding, most rocking album to date. With the catchy chorus’s from ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ combined with the musicianship elements from ‘Dead Ringer’. Hang Cool Teddy Bear is a must have for Meat Loaf fans who are triumphing the bands return.
Any new band who is thinking of taking the root down the road of rock should definitely take tips out of Meat Loafs book and listen to this amazing album. The guitar work is fast and clean, while Meat Loafs powerful voice rages on over the drums, keyboard and guitars influencing the listener to sing along to the really catchy choruses. There is no filler within the album, it’s just made up of top 5 star classic Meat Loaf tunes.
Hang Cool Teddy Bear is a 13 track album that lasts for nearly 65 wild minutes. The album also contains many guest appearances from friends of the band: Justin Hawkins, Brian May, Jack Black, Steve Vai and Jon Bon Jovi. If that isn’t a wet dream I don’t know what is. If you’re a fan of comedy material you have definitely got to check out the track ‘Like a Rose’ which has side splitting lyrical themes from Tenacious D. Meat Loaf has failed to disappoint with album number 10, but will the band able to blow a hole through the UK with a headlining show for Hang Cool Teddy Bear?

I’ve not heard the album yet, I wasn’t overly keen on Meat’s last two efforts.
I always feel Meat Loaf’s best material is when he’s got Jim Steinman buy his side, it’s just a real shame that the two hardly speak these days as they bring out the musical best in each other.
Would you say this album is more like Couldn’t Have Said It Better or Bat Out of Hell III? I thought Couldn’t Have Said It Better was probably Meat’s second strongest non-Steinman album after Welcome to the Neighbourhood.
