Circle Pits. Thats what this album reminds me of. Fractures debut album ‘Dominate and Overload’ is back to back pure thrash metal goodness. The riffs are insane, the drumming is as heavy as hell and the vocals are powerful and piercing enough to unleash Satan himself from his hollow dominion in the underground. Its quite hard to belive they haven’t been signed yet as they are just as good as some of Sweden’s other bands it has to offer. One band that can give King Diamond a run for his money are definitely going to be the way forward when defending the faith of metal.

Starting from the mind-blowing beginning would be a good start. The first track on ‘Dominate and Overload’ is the amazingly titled ‘Sulfur Preacher’. The drums kick in and you find it hard not to head bang away to its heavy verses. Moving swiftly on through the album we pass lots of extremely heavy tracks like: ‘Monument of Shame, Apple of Eden and Wave master’. Which are capable of bringing down the roof with their sonic boom power. So if you’re going to get it play these tracks as loud as you can!

Also on this diverse album is a selection of ballad material. The 2 tracks that stick out like soar thumbs in between this party like mayhem are: ‘Stranger Within’ and ‘Soul Catcher’. This kind of a big disappointment as I’d like to see more balls and beef to these songs so that they can match the distorted brilliance of some of the other songs situated on the album. What happens if you take a band which sound a hell of a lot like Kind Diamond/Merciful Fate and put them in a big record label such as Metal Blade? One hell of a future band, that’s what.
