I’ve been aware of The More I See for sometime now. My friend lent me their first album and I found it difficult to get into and enjoy. This is a completely different case with the bands 3rd album ‘Tread the Darker Path’. With all thrash metal bands you expect amazing soaring solo’s, fast drum parts and this album fails to disappoint. The More I see have come out of their acorn shell and have developed into an oak tree of metal.
Most of the songs on this album are the same as songs off the bands 2nd album ‘The Unholy feast’. This has sort of made me fear for The More I See. It makes me wonder: “Have this band ran out of material?” I really hope not. The new songs on this album include covers of: ‘Smack my Bitch Up’ by The Prodigy and ‘Wicker Man’ by Iron Maiden which are amazing. If I was a big fan of the band and a someone wanted me to pitch the album to them I wouldn’t say you’re missing a great deal apart from two covers. But for those who have never listened to The More I see it is definitely a must try.
With just under 1 hour of rip roaring tracks full of thrash and Punk elements you’ve got to check this out just for the sheer musicianship involved in the album. I don’t want to be the one ringing the death knell for The More I See but a tip for them is to bring a wider variety of songs, instead of using the same riff/solo/vocal line on every single album.
