What is Ragnarok Radio

Ragnarok Radio is a twice monthly heavy metal podcast featuring news, reviews and interviews with established and many up and coming bands in the metal and alternative scenes. Originally establised in a cold Dundee December in 2006 the show has grown to become the leading heavy metal podcast for Scotland and we’re working our way into the North East of England too.

What does Ragnarok Mean?

From Wikipedia:

In Norse mythology, Ragnarök (IPA: /rɑgnɑrɔk/, Old Norse “Final destiny of the gods”) refers to a series of major events, including a great battle foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures (including the gods Odin, Thor, Freyr, Heimdall, and the jötunn Loki), the occurrence of various natural disasters, and the subsequent submersion of the world in water. Afterwards, the world resurfaces anew and fertile, the surviving gods meet, and the world is repopulated by two human survivors. Ragnarök is an important event in the Norse canon, and has been the subject of scholarly discourse and theory.

What is the purpose of the show?

Ragnarok was initially set up to promote Scottish heavy metal, international acts, and to produce a reliable free press source. We also hope to educate those uninitiated to the world of heavy metal and bring more interest to the British Metal scene.
